I’m the sometimes blunt, mostly crunchy, slightly particular CEO & Founder of 1428 Financial with over 11 years in accounting. But don't worry– I'm not here to bore you with spreadsheets and numbers (well, too much.) It’s no secret bookkeeping is a dull headache reminder that you have a business to run…when you'd rather be sipping a marg on the beach. Why is it such a headache?! Because not many online service providers have backgrounds in finance or much knowledge of accounting in general.

That’s where I come in. In my very first job as an office administrator, I somehow ended up doing the bookkeeping. Then I started college as a math major and became an office manager who also– yep, you guessed it– did their bookkeeping. I wasn’t looking to do accounting or bookkeeping but it kept falling in my lap. I started to think “Okay, God. Clearly I have a gift you want me to use.” Then I started an accounting job while finishing college, eventually earning the title of Staff Accountant with my Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

After seeing how many people I helped in those years, I knew I had to form my own business to help more people feel comfortable with their money decisions. It’s funny that, while trying to form my path as a math teacher, God kept calling me back to managing numbers. To bookkeeping. To help people feel calm when looking at their accounts. I realized how fulfilling it was to finally give in and commit to the industry by forming 1428 Financial.

My job has allowed me to see complete 180s in people who walk through my virtual doors. From stressed to relieved. From worried to confident. From annoyed to relaxed. I’ve seen that it’s more than “just a job” because I’m helping people feel better in life as a whole. So while you can juggle all the essential tasks of your business, the catch is, you might find yourself with zero time for yourself or your circle by the end of the week. Striking a healthy balance is key to avoiding burnout and feeling as good as finding money in your pocket. It’s why our virtual bookkeepers exist: so you can give up the pesky, little things to focus on the meaningful, important things.

I’m highly organized (some might argue too organized) and passionate about helping clients stay on top of their bookkeeping so no penny falls under the table. My superpower is helping people feel totally at ease about their money. With years of experience as an analyst at a large accounting firm, I’m all about helping young entrepreneurs understand the financial side of their business. Accounting can get pretty intricate, but I thrive on being the one who makes numbers not just understandable, but feel less like stepping on a Lego.
